DONA NIEVES MINGA 5 1/8 X58

Dona Nieves Minga 5 1/8 x 58, a cigar in the Doña Nieves line from El Galan Cigars:

Doña Nieves Minga (5 1/8 x 58) is a premium handmade Nicaraguan cigar blended by master blender Felix A. Mesa and produced at his El Galan factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Minga vitola (5 1/8 inches long with a 58 ring gauge) is one of the primary sizes in the Dona Nieves line.

Key characteristics

• Origin and maker: Handmade in Nicaragua by El Galan Cigars under the direction of Felix A. Mesa, a Cuban-heritage blender with a multi-generation family history in tobacco.

• Blend: Typically features a rich Nicaraguan blend with Dominican filler, Nicaraguan binder, and an Oscuro (dark) wrapper, giving it bold flavor and a robust appearance.

• Body: Medium to full-bodied profile, with flavor notes often described as pepper, cream, chocolate, spice, and earthy tobacco.

• Construction: Box of 24 cigars is common, and individual sticks are well built with an even draw and balanced smoke.

• Flavor profile: Smokers report evolving flavors — pepper and spice early, creamy and chocolate nuances mid-smoke, with a satisfying richness through the finish.

The Minga size is named after what Mesa’s mother called Doña Nieves, tying into the personal family story behind the brand.
