EL REY DEL MUNDO KING OF THE WORLD VSOP

El Rey del Mundo “King of the World” VSOP is a limited-edition extension of the El Rey del Mundo line, built around aged tobacco and a more modern Nicaraguan profile.

It is not a traditional Cuban expression of the brand. This VSOP version is produced by Scandinavian Tobacco Group at the STG Estelí factory in Nicaragua, and it was rolled in 2021 and aged for several years before release.

• Filler: Nicaraguan and Dominican Habano

Flavor profile (based on early release notes and similar STG blends in this line):
Expect a core of earth, cedar, espresso, and dark cocoa with a steady pepper spice. The aging tends to round the edges, so it usually smokes smoother than the regular “King of the World” release, with a more refined sweetness showing up in the middle third.

What VSOP really means here:
It’s a nod to long aging, similar to cognac terminology, indicating this cigar was intentionally rested to develop deeper integration of flavors before release.  

Overall experience:
This is positioned as a value-luxury limited release, meaning it’s meant to feel more premium and dialed-in than standard El Rey del Mundo offerings, while still staying in that accessible price tier.
