Flavor Profile

The Toro delivers the same core Laranja Hybrid character as the Short Churchill, but the larger ring gauge gives the blend more room to develop. Expect citrus, cedar, pepper, cocoa, earth, roasted nuts and a subtle sweetness, with creamy tobacco and spice becoming more prominent as the cigar progresses.

The Brazilian tobacco in the filler brings an interesting sweetness and aromatic quality, while the Nicaraguan tobacco provides the backbone and spice. 

Construction & Burn

The Toro is box-pressed, measuring 6 × 52. The larger format should provide a longer, more gradual smoking experience than the 6 × 48 Short Churchill, allowing the blend to transition through its flavor profile at a more relaxed pace.

Overall Experience

If the Short Churchill is the quick, concentrated expression of the Laranja Hybrid, the Toro is the cigar I’d reach for when I want to sit down and really experience the blend.

The additional ring gauge gives the Brazilian and Nicaraguan tobaccos more room to balance one another, producing a smoke that is rich, spicy, creamy and slightly sweet without losing the citrus-driven character that makes the Laranja family unique.

Same DNA, different experience. The Short Churchill gives you the Laranja Hybrid in a shorter, more concentrated session, while the Toro allows the blend to stretch its legs.

For me, the Toro is the format for when you have the time to slow down and let this cigar tell its story. The combination of Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro, Nicaraguan tobacco and Brazilian filler makes this one of the more interesting additions to the Laranja family.
