Flavor Profile
First Third
The Toro opens with cedar, musty wood, earth, grass and black pepper. There is an underlying natural sweetness that gradually develops into a sweet-and-sour apple/fruit character. On the retrohale, cedar and black pepper become more pronounced.
Second Third
This is where the ADN really starts to separate itself. The initial mustiness and grass fade, and the cigar moves toward natural tobacco, sweet apple, roasted nuts and bread. A savory barbecue-sauce quality with molasses and smoky/tangy notes can emerge, giving the cigar an unusual sweet-and-savory combination.
Final Third
The final third becomes richer and more substantial. Fresh-baked bread, earthy tobacco, black pepper and roasted nuts take over, with some smoky sweetness remaining underneath. The pepper increases but doesn’t completely overpower the other flavors. The finish is long, earthy and spicy.
Construction & Burn
The Toro generally delivers good smoke production and an open, easy draw. One review found the burn line straight with a firm gray ash, while other samples have experienced waviness and required touch-ups. So construction can be somewhat sample-dependent.
