A rustic, earthy and rich Maduro. The Lancero format concentrates the wrapper nicely, bringing forward earth, cocoa, coffee, cedar, leather and black pepper, with a subtle sweetness underneath. Cigar Aficionado specifically noted earthy and tarry characteristics with hints of caramel and coffee.
Construction & Burn
The signature Leaf by Oscar presentation is unmistakable: the cigar comes wrapped in an additional tobacco leaf. Underneath is the oily Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper. At 7 × 38, the Lancero can be more sensitive to draw and construction than the larger vitolas, but a good one delivers a concentrated, flavorful smoke.

Cigar Aficionado rated this specific Lancero 87 points, while a 2024 review scored it 91, so it’s a cigar that has generated some very different—but generally positive—reactions.
