Rich and substantial without becoming overpowering. The Maduro wrapper gives it plenty of depth, while the blend maintains a refined balance.

Flavor Profile

First Third
Dark chocolate, espresso, cedar and earth right away. There’s a natural sweetness underneath the darker flavors, with a touch of pepper adding some edge.

Second Third
Coffee and cocoa continue to develop, joined by caramel, toasted nuts and leather. The sweetness becomes more noticeable while the pepper settles down.

Final Third
The cigar gets darker and richer with espresso, dark chocolate, earth and cedar. A subtle herbal sweetness and pepper linger on the finish, creating a satisfying final third.

Construction & Burn

The box press feels excellent in the hand and delivers a dense, creamy smoke. The construction is impressive for a 6 x 52 box-pressed Toro, with a good draw and strong smoke production.

Overall Experience

Long Live the Queen Maduro takes the original Queen concept in a darker direction, replacing the Cameroon wrapper with Mexican San Andrés and changing the filler blend to Dominican and U.S. tobacco. The result is richer, darker and more Maduro-forward while still maintaining Caldwell’s signature complexity.

Long live THE QUEEN—and this version deserves the crown. The Wild Card is probably the most interesting size in the Maduro lineup. That box press gives the cigar a beautiful balance between richness and restraint, letting the chocolate, coffee, caramel and earth develop without turning into a one-note Maduro bomb.
