Concept / Story

  • The Sobremesa Brûlée is Steve Saka’s interpretation of a classic Connecticut Shade cigar from decades past — smooth, creamy, and sweet.
  • “Brûlée” refers to its natural sweetness, similar to the caramelized topping on crème brûlée.
  • Upon release, there was a lot of debate over whether the cigars had a sweetened cap (Saka has clarified some batches were subtly sweetened, but others were naturally sweet-tasting).
  • It’s meant to be a “gateway cigar” for those who prefer milder smokes but still want nuance and complexity.

Pairing Suggestions

  • Spirits: Cognac, light rum, or Speyside Scotch.
  • Coffee: Cappuccino or vanilla latte.
  • Beer: Belgian witbier or a cream ale.
