Flavor Profile

First Third:
The No. 45 opens with an immediate blast of black pepper and spice, followed by rich espresso, dark chocolate, cocoa and earth. As the pepper settles, roasted coffee and a subtle sweetness begin to emerge.

Second Third:
The cigar begins to smooth out while developing more aged tobacco, leather, toasted nuts and earthy oak. The coffee and cocoa remain at the core, while the pepper becomes more restrained and a subtle sweetness develops underneath.

Final Third:
The final third brings back some of the pepper and spice, with deeper espresso, dark chocolate, earth, oak and molasses-like sweetness. The aged tobacco becomes more pronounced, creating a rich, powerful finish.

Construction & Burn

A densely packed, severely box-pressed cigar with excellent smoke production. The draw can provide some resistance, but the cigar generally delivers a slow, substantial smoking experience with a firm ash.

Overall Experience

This is a rich, powerful and intensely flavored Padrón. The combination of aged Nicaraguan tobacco, Maduro wrapper, espresso, cocoa, earth and spice gives the No. 45 tremendous depth without losing the unmistakable Padrón character. The tobacco used in the Family Reserve is aged for years, with Padrón describing the leaves as being aged up to 10 years.

Burnt Leaf Insight

The Family Reserve No. 45 Maduro is a cigar you don’t rush. It starts aggressively with pepper and spice, settles into a rich coffee-and-cocoa middle, and finishes with the deep, earthy character of aged Nicaraguan tobacco. It’s one of those cigars where the three thirds genuinely tell a story—and that’s exactly what makes it a special-occasion smoke.
