Flavor Profile

The cigar opens with notes of oak, earth, and warm cumin before transitioning into cardamom, dark coffee, toasted walnuts, and rich baking spices. The finish delivers dark chocolate, prune sweetness, and a subtle peat character.

Construction & Burn

One of the most striking features is the hand braided tobacco cap designed to resemble a horse’s mane. The braid requires multiple rollers and significantly more production time than a traditional cigar. Construction has been widely praised for an easy draw and even burn despite its large 7 by 58 format.

Overall Experience

The Year of the Horse is more than a cigar. It is a collector’s piece that combines exceptional presentation with a complex, full bodied smoking experience. For fans of previous Plasencia Zodiac releases such as the Year of the Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, and Dragon, this may be one of the most visually impressive releases yet.

Burnt Leaf Insight

Plasencia continues to prove why it is one of the most respected names in premium tobacco. The Year of the Horse delivers luxury packaging, masterful craftsmanship, and a flavor profile that evolves from savory spice to rich dessert notes. Whether purchased to smoke or collect, this release stands among the most sought after limited editions of 2026.
